Ridgemont’s Jacob Sisk fights for the extra yard against Black Oak.
Ridgemont pulled back, but ultimately pulled off a 34-28 triumph over Black Oak.
The Mustangs, who held an 18-0 lead after one quarter and a 34-14 advantage at halftime, relied on their second offense and defense to get them through much of the second half against BO.
On the flip side, the Eagles — who dressed just 23 players — did not give up in their final contest of the campaign, fighting for a pair of touchdowns in the second half and coming up six points short as R’mont was forced to put its first team back on the field.
In the only other middle school game on Thursday, South Fulton blanked Lake Road 28-0.
The following is a roundup of Thursday’s games as reported to The Messenger.
