Completed arrangements are being announced for Joe Nathan Clark, 91, of Union City, who died Sept. 29, 2010, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City, with visitation beginning there at 9 a.m. Graham McGill will officiate. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Rawls Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
He was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Gibson County, son of the late Leroy and Blossie (Jones) Clark. He married the former Ernestine Fitzpatrick, who survives. He was a member of Vine Street Church of Christ in Union City and was a retired housekeeping supervisor at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
He was also a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II and he had owned the former Clark’s Barber Shop in Union City.
Survivors also include two daughters, Ealer Bass and Blossie Clark, both of Union City; two foster children whom he raised, Jessie Hammonds of Union City and Keith Pirtle of Memphis; four sisters, Minnie Holder of St. Louis, Brenda Smith and Jeanette Clark, both of Nashville, and Janice Williams of Trenton; his stepmother, Emma Clark of Humboldt; and four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Clark; and three grandchildren, Jeffery Clark, Gwen Clark and Knox Bass.
