Gilda Yvonne Simmons, 55, of South Fulton, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bells Chapel C.M.E. Church, Fulton, Ky., with Rev. Ricardo Lindsey, Dr. Jessie L. O. Webb, Rev. Marvin Mercer, Rev. Larry McClure and Rev. Eric McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens with Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. before the funeral at the church.
Ms. Simmons was born Oct. 4, 1954 in Fulton, daughter of Charolette Hayes McClure of South Fulton and the late James Edward Ingram. She was a bank teller for Reelfoot Bank in Fulton, a member of the Turning Point Ministries in Hickman, Ky. and a member of the Ken-Tenn Homecoming and Reunion Committee and the Ken-Tenn Forum.
Survivors also include one daughter and son-in-law, LaShonda and Robert Walker of Jacksonville, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Shala Ingram of Martin, Justin and Amanda Ingram of Adamsville, Ala.; two sisters, Melissa McClure of Fulton and Sharon Hutcherson of Martin; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Fuchea Ingram of Fulton, Anthony Ingram of Martin and Paster Michael and Tonya McClure of Hickman; and seven grandchildren.
