NASHVILLE (AP) — Tennessee transportation officials want to hear about bicyclists’ experiences on the roads.
The Department of Transportation has set up a website and is seeking comment from bicycle riders through Oct. 30. Their comments will be used to update the state bike route network.
A 2005 long-range plan by TDOT recommended a statewide bicycle system and the agency says the plan needs updating.
The survey can be taken online at www.tn.gov/tdot/bikeped/default.htm
TDOT notes Tennessee has moved up 19 spots in an annual ranking of bicycle-friendly states by the League of American Cyclists and is now 24th.
Knoxville and Chattanooga have been cited as supporting citizens who ride bikes.
