Completed arrangements are being announced for Lavern E. “Eric” Erickson, 90, of Naples, Fla., husband of former Union City resident Katheryne (McVay) Erickson. He died Jan. 6, 2010, in Tampa.
A memorial service was held Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. at Naples United Church of Christ. Burial of ashes will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at East View Cemetery, with the Rev. Stan Waldon officiating. White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Salvation Army.
He was born April 9, 1919, in Jamestown, N.Y., and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot and flight instructor in World War II. He was a retired sales executive with PMC Industries in Wickliffe, Ohio, and had retired to Naples in 1983.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Harris Bynum of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and his son, Lee Russell Erickson of Atlanta.
