GOP event slated

Republican candidates Stephen Fincher of Frog Jump and Bill Sanderson of Kenton are hosting a “meet and greet the candidates” event Thursday from 5-6 p.m. at the Reelfoot Lake Round House at Blue Bank. Food and drinks will be provided from 5-7 p.m.
Fincher is seeking to represent the Eighth Congressional District in Washington, D.C., and Sanderson hopes to go to Nashville as the 77th District representative following November elections. The Eighth Congressional District covers northwest Tennessee, including Obion, Weakley, Lake, Dyer and Gibson counties. The 77th District includes Obion and Lake counties and a portion of Dyer County.
The public is invited to attend and hear from “Real Conservatives for a Conservative West Tennessee,” a spokesman said.
