Two strokes make the difference in Rotary Club golf tournament
Every single stroke is important in a golf tournament.
That was again brought to light as two strokes were the difference between the first-place and third-place teams when the Martin Rotary Club hosted a golf tournament on Sept. 9 at Persimmon Hills Golf Course in Sharon.
The winning team finished at 16-under par, while the second- and third-place teams both finished at 14-under par.
Finishing as the victors was the team comprised of Kerry Killebrew, Scott Smith, Ricky Carter and Tony Trevathan.
Based on a score card playoff, the second-place team included Gary Capers, David Hart, Tommy Legins and Casey Barksdale. The score card playoff started on hole No. 7 which the second place team eagled.
Members of the third-place team were TJ Cooper, Lucas Doral, Brian McDaniel and Aarron Cooper.
Joe Henderson and Richard Smith both won longest drive competitions, while Cary Robinson, Joe Henderson and Jack Reese all won closest to the pin competitions during the tournament.
