Doster receives 2011 state educator honors
Dr. Debbie Doster, supervisor of curriculum and instruction for Weakley County Schools grades 6-12, has been named a grand recipient in the Supervisor of the Year awards hosted by the state Monday evening.
Doster was among nine nominees for the 2011 Supervisor of the Year award.
She was chosen as the grand winner of the Western Division.
“These administrators are not only great teachers, but leaders at the heart of improving education across the state,” Education Commissioner Timothy Webb said.
Grand division winners receive an additional $500 and the state winners receive an additional $500. All awards are provided by ENA at an awards banquet during the 2010 Tennessee Educational LEADership conference.
“The professionals we recognize today have made noteworthy contributions to the improvement of their school districts, and raising the standards for our students.”
Candidates for these awards are nominated by regional study councils composed of fellow principals and supervisors representing nine regions across the state.
The Supervisor of the Year award honors district-wide administrators who guide improvements in school programming while pursuing higher standards of student academic success.
