Devilettes hit spot against Union City
South Fulton hit Union City early and often.
The Devilettes struck for four runs in the first and three in the second during Thursday’s 9-1 triumph over the Lady Tornadoes.
With the victory, SF has all bragging rights between the two schools. A previously-postponed game set to be played on the Devilettes’ turf will not be rescheduled, according to South Fulton coach Curt Lee.
In other middle school softball action on Thursday, Lake Road routed Dyer 7-2.

SF 9, Union City 1
Sydney Easterwood singled, doubled and walked for the Devilettes (15-1) during Thursday’s victory.
Also, Aalia Bivens had two hits for South Fulton, while Alli Ruddle and Moranda Johns each contributed one safety.
Winning pitcher Sierra Coley struck out five.
Union City had losing pitcher Ashley Faught with two hits, while Courtney Sherrill, LaPrasha Fair, Kealie Reaves and Kayleighn White all reached safely once.
Ivey Westbrooks also laid down two successful sacrifice bunts.
The Lady Twisters did claim a 5-3 jayvee win over SF.
Kristian Davis, Piper Warren and Caroline Chism all had hits for Union City’s JV team.
South Fulton plays Lake Road at Obion Central on Monday. UC hosts Martin the same day.
Lake Road 7, Dyer 2
Lady General hurler Paige Russell allowed just one hit, striking out six en route to the mound win on Thursday.
Hannah Cavness had a single, double and three RBI for Lake Road (9-2), while Lynsey Berner and Paige Russell both finished with two hits for LR.
