Nannie Lear Wren Posted: Thursday, September 23, 2010 1:07 pm Mrs. Nannie Lear Wrenn, 96, of Selmer, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 in Selmer. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Michie with Steve Webb officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery at Shiloh with Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Wrenn was born Nov. 29, 1013 in McNairy County, daughter of the late Joe and Mary Etta Junior Rhodes. She was the widow of Rex Willis Thompson Wrenn. She taught school in McNairy and Hardin counties and retired from teaching in 1980 in Greenfield with a combined teaching career of more than 45 years. She was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church where she taught a women’s Sunday School class for 25 years. Survivors include two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Carolyn T. and William Ted of Covington, Emily and Milton Kearney of Leland, Miss.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Bonnie Mills, Pearl Lowe, Cora Thacker and Francis Blanche Rhodes; and one brother, Dan Rhodes. wcp 9/21/10 |
