Col. Jeffrey Forrest Brigade Sons of the Confederate Veterans met recently, with Dieter Ulrich, special collections librarian/archivist of the Pogue Library at Murray (Ky.) State University, as guest speaker.
Chaplain Mike Alexander opened the meeting with a prayer, followed by flag pledges led by Cmdr. Joe Dillon.
Ulrich gave an enjoyable, informative and interesting power-point presentation about Weakley County’s only Civil War battle, the Battle of Lochridge Mills.
Bill Foster and Danny Isbell reported on the recent meeting of the Tennessee Division’s General Executive Council. The council approved a request for $500 to be used for replacement of the Trimble flag.
An update on the Cannon Project was given, with discussion on how to transport it from Virginia to Tennessee.
There were 13 members and four guests present.
