NASHVILLE (AP) — Nashville police believe a 31-year-old man died as a result of a drug-related beating, even though individuals who drove him to the hospital say he was in a violent carjacking.
Police believe Brian Horton was picked up earlier this week and then beaten as he was being driven.
Horton’s identity was confirmed through fingerprints because police say he didn’t have any identification when he arrived at the hospital.
Horton was on supervised release after serving time for federal cocaine and firearms convictions.
