Virginia Lee “Jenny” (Horton) Bruff, 86, of Union City died Sept. 21, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chip Davis officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Leggett. Burial will follow in Bruff Family Cemetery near Bradford.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Steve Rice, Tommy Bruff, Kyle McDaniel, Lacy Clayton, James Whaley, Kenneth Rhodes and Mark Bell.
The family requests that memorials be made to Lake Road Baptist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis or the charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born Jan. 7, 1924, in McNairy County, daughter of the late J.B. and Stella (Ledford) Horton. She married Thomas Franklin “Tom” Bruff March 24, 1948. He died Oct. 21, 1972. She and her husband had owned and operated the former City Cafe for 25 years and she had been employed at E.W. James the past 20 years.
She was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bruff is survived by her daughter, Donna (Bruff) Rambo of Union City; her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Susan Bruff of Hernando, Miss.; her stepdaughter, Paula Crowell of Indianapolis; her half sister and brother-in-law, Janice and John Pollock of Union City; two half brothers, Jerry Horton of Union City and John Horton of Millington; her step-grandson, Kyle McDaniel of Murfreesboro; and her step-great-grandson and his wife, Tommy and Shannon Bruff of Murfreesboro.
She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and three stepsons.
