Devilettes clutch at the end
South Fulton came through in the clutch.
The Devilettes struck for two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overtake Ridgemont on Monday afternoon and escape with a slim 5-4 triumph.
With the victory, SF — which fell for the first time this season on Saturday at a Lake County Tournament to Hillcrest — improves to 13-1.
In other middle school softball action on Monday, Lake Road blanked Black Oak 17-0.
Today’s softball slate has Hillcrest at Martin and Union City at Ridgemont.
On Thursday, UC and SF do battle, while Dyer travels to the Obion Central field for a game with Lake Road.

SF 5, Ridgemont 4
Aalia Bivens tripled and doubled to pace South Fulton on Monday.
Additionally, Sierra Coley had two hits, while Cassidy Ruddle and Aeriel Wright had one safety each for SF.
Winning pitcher Kristen Crocker struck out four and walked just one.
For Ridgemont, losing pitcher Sheridan Bugg struck out three.
At the plate, Bugg had two singles and a double.
R’mont teammate Autumn Payne finished with two singles, while Macey Beeler and Landry Webster had one hit each.
LR 17, Black Oak 0
Lynsey Berner had two safeties and two RBI for the Lady Generals (8-2), while Tatum Cary also had a hit during Monday’s win.
Winning pitcher Robin Lewis struck out five for Lake Road.
Black Oak’s Bethany Gardner and Diana Flippen each accounted for one hit.
Losing pitcher Jenna Lea Green recorded a pair of strikeouts.
The Lady Eagles return to the diamond next Monday at Rutherford.
