Gleason man shot during altercation

A Gleason man remains in critical condition after he allegedly refused to put down his weapon and was shot by a police officer.
According to a press release issued by the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department, 34-year-old Jason Edward Hensley confronted an unidentified Gleason Police officer on Monday brandishing a shotgun.
The release claims Hensley failed to comply with the officer’s commands to put down his weapon, forcing the officer to fire multiple rounds at Hensley.
He was airlifted to The Med in Memphis for treatment of his injuries.
The incident occurred at 2340 Parks Well Rd. outside of Gleason. Hensley remains in critical condition.
Hensley reportedly has a history of alcohol, drug and assault charges. The investigation is on-going.
