Citizens Fire Academy taking applications

The Martin Fire Department will once again host its successful Citizens Fire Academy.
Participants will have an opportunity to experience hands-on training in small-scale firefighting, first aid and using the “jaws of life.”
Citizens of the CFA walk away with a greater appreciation of the training required to become a firefighter.
The course lasts for eight weeks and will meet from 6-9 p.m. on Mondays beginning Oct. 11.
All interested participants can pick up an application at the fire station on Neal Street in Martin. The deadline to return applications is Friday, Oct. 1.
Those who have already applied for the fall session are asked to re-apply at the station.
There is no fee to participate in the annual Citizens Fire Academy.
