The Hunter Hynds Unit of United Methodist Women met recently at Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Union City with 12 members and two guests present. President Chris Cheatham called the meeting to order and Rosemary Coleman led in prayer after several needs and concerns were shared.
The Purpose was recited in unison and Mrs. Cheatham presented a devotional entitled “Jesus of the Mud Puddle.”
The Response moment, based on Acts 8:26-40, was entitled “Hope for the Journey.”
Sandra McTurner provided names from the prayer calendar and read from Luke 12:41-48. Emily Haynes read the minutes of the previous meeting and Leanne Parnell gave the treasurer’s report.
Becky Barnes and Mrs. Haynes provided the program, a spiritual growth lesson entitled “For the Love of God: John’s Letters” by Sharon Delgado.
Linda Winstead sang “Jesus Loves Me” and let the unit in singing, at appropriate intervals in the program, the chorus of “O, How He Loves You and Me.”
Mrs. Barnes had designed a focal point for the program, a framed needlepoint pie featuring the words “Love one another,” a mixed bouquet from her garden, a cross and a figurine.
Mrs. Cheatham closed the meeting in prayer.
