OCCHS band included in event Posted: Wednesday, September 15, 2010 6:47 pm The Messenger 09.15.10 High school bands from across West Tennessee — including Obion County Central High School — will be marching into the J.C. Sawyer Stadium on the Dyersburg High School campus to take part in the 31st Annual Symphony of Sound competition on Saturday. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. and the first band will take the field at 10. Admission is $7 per person, with children ages five and younger admitted free. The overall winner takes home the Godsey Cup, named in memory of former DHS band director Jim Godsey, who also formerly taught at OCCHS. Among those scheduled to take part in the competition are Evangelical Christian School, Cordova; Dyer County High School, Newbern; Camden Central High School; Halls High School; Huntingdon March-ing Mustangs, Huntingdon; First Assembly Christian School, Cordova; OCCHS; North Side High School, Jackson; Westview High School, Martin; Peabody High School, Trenton; Goodpasture Christian School, Madison; McNairy Central High School, Selmer; and Brighton High School. , , |
