Harriet Lorilla (Karnbach) Tyler, 85, of Obion died Sept. 10, 2010,
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with burial following in Elbridge Cemetery near Obion. Ray Jenkins will officiate and pallbearers will be Billy Tyler Dong, Tyler Newman, Jonathan Newman, George Vasquez, Jeremy Dotson, Billy Dong, Steve Smith and John Kilbourne. Friends may call at the funeral home 6-8 this evening.
She was born April 26, 1925, in Weehawken, N.J., daughter of the late Charles and Lorilla (Bernhart) Karnbach. She was the widow of George Harmon Tyler, who died May 9, 2004. A retired telephone switchboard operator, she was a Catholic and had been a member of Navy Wives Club, Girl Scouts and Women’s Club of Obion.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Ann Hensley of Carterville, Ill., Belynda Tyler of Dyersburg, Debra Dong of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mary Tyler of Obion; her son, Phillip Tyler of Elbridge; her sister, Lorilla Nolan of West Palm Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Akinduro and Julie Dotson, both of Carterville, Kristine Dong and Billy Tyler Dong, both of Brooklyn, Tyler Newman and Jonathan Newman, both of Obion, and George Vasquez of Dyersburg; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ross Karnbach.
