Union City Elementary School PTO is resuming its successful Box Tops program to aid education, according to program coordinator Lonna Kennedy.
“Box Tops is all about the difference one can make. This year, our goal is to raise $1,200,” Mrs. Kennedy said.
Supporters of the school are encouraged to clip the box tops from hundreds of participating products and send them to school. Each box top from products labeled as participants in the program will be worth 10 cents when the school redeems them through the Box Tops for Education program. Collections will be held in each of the nine-week grading periods, with the first collection set for this week.
Children can bring the box tops to school and turn them in and the classroom with the most box tops will win a popcorn and soft drink party, according to Mrs. Kennedy.
