Allen’s Towing & Recovery/Service Center’s building at 1394 Rutledge Lane in Union City is sporting new colors these days — representing a change of motor oil to Mobil, the official lubricants of NASCAR.
Allen’s opened locally in 1976 and relocated to Rutledge Lane in 2001.
The business — owned by James Allen and co-owned by sons Bryan Allen and Jason Allen — offers quick lube, towing and recovery, auto repair and tire sales.
Allen’s has been voted No. 1 oil change by Messenger readers for two consecutive years. Allen said the six-member staff works very quickly to change customers’ oil in an effective manner to ensure they can resume their daily activities as quickly as possible.
As consumers continue to keep vehicles longer, Allen’s needed to offer an oil to prolong engine life, according to Allen. Mobil oil had the option for every engine.
“Whether your engine would benefit from a high-mileage special oil with a seal swelling agent or a synthetic oil with 27 percent more cleaning agents, we now have the product for every engine,” he said.
Allen’s also offers a 24-hour service of towing options from simply a car to a semi-truck and trailer. They are now stocked for new tire sales, ranging in brands, and other services include brake jobs, balancing and rotation, minor mechanical repairs and lock-outs.
Allen’s is open Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-noon. For more information, call the business at 885-9980.
