The 17th annual Shrine Trail Ride, in memory of Quentin Allgood, is planned for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15-17 to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children at the Natchez Trace State Park, Wrangler Campground and will be hosted by Al Chymia Shrine Carroll County Mounted Patrol. A ride donation of $10 per day or $15 for both days will be asked. Children under 12 are half price if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The campground is located Interstate 40 between Jackson and Nashville, exit #116, then south of Hwy. 114, 2.5 miles to Wrangler Campground entrance on the right. Campground sites are available on first-come, first-service basis. Camping fees will be collected by the state of Tennessee at a rate of $20 per night (water, electrical hookups and bathhouse). There will be a 10 percent meal discounts available at Pin Oak Lodge while camping.
On Friday check in and registration begins. Two new raffles will be drawn for a hand-made horse quilt and $250 Wal-Mart gift certificate. At 5:30 p.m. hamburger and hot dog plates with desserts and drink at $4 each are available. Children under 12 are half price.
On Saturday, registration continues throughout the day. At 5 p.m. a barbecue plate with dessert and drink for $6 each is available. At 6 p.m. auction items for donations. All will be greatly appreciated.
On Sunday at 8:30 a.m. worship service at the pavilion, at noon, grand prize drawing a western pleasure addle. You are not required to be present to win. At 12:01 p.m. door prizes will be given away and you must be present to win.
There will be no admission to park without Negative Coggins!
