Pray for our children
Pray for our children Posted: Friday, September 10, 2010 1:14 pm The Messenger, September 10, 2010 “Mom, would you pray for me?” The plea is one with special spiritual resonance for many families today and, in response to the need, a local group of mothers is joining forces with parents across the globe to intercede for their children and those whose interaction affects their lives. Are you the mom of a school-aged child, from preschool to college? Do you wish you could join other moms to pray for your child? Any mother who says “yes” to these questions is invited to join a group of local women as they begin the school year praying for their children, their children’s teachers and the schools they attend. Founded by Fern Nichols in 1984, Moms in Touch International is a weekly, nondenominational prayer ministry active in 140 countries. Now, Moms in Touch is meeting in Obion County. “Join us for an informational tea Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home of Carol Marshall, located at 637 North Old Troy Road, between Troy and Union City,” a spokesman said. “Anyone with a heart to pray is welcome.” “It is a blessing to pray for our children with other moms,” says Mrs. Marshall. “Whether our children are struggling in school or doing great, they always need our prayers. I have been a part of this ministry for over 13 years, and it is a privilege to gather to pray for our children and their teachers. Please join us and find out how you can be a part of this vital ministry to our children. Call (731) 624-0026 for directions or questions.”
