A Bradford man was charged with robbery following an alleged incident Wednesday night on South Sunswept Drive in Union City.
Jeremy Lane Perry, 19, of 520 Smith St., Bradford, was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. on charges of robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police responded to a robbery complaint about 9:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Sunswept Drive.
A few seconds before the call was dispatched, an officer reported he was driving in the 600 block of South Sunswept Drive when he noticed a white man and two black men walking south on Sunswept. He noticed the white man had a large tattoo on the side of his neck. As the officer approached the Church Street intersection, police dispatch advised two people had just reported being robbed on South Sunswept Drive and the alleged offenders were two black men and a white man with a star tattoo on his neck.
The victims, William S. McCarl III and Ashley F. Sangster, both of Union City, told police they were attempting to buy soft drinks from a vending machine in the area when they were approached by two black men and a white man with a tattoo on his neck. Items reported taken included money, cigarettes and a cigarette lighter, as well as a cell phone that reportedly was thrown back at the victims after the alleged robbery.
Perry was located at apartments nearby and taken to the victims’ apartment, where they identified him as the man who allegedly took part in the robbery, according to the report.
The weapons offense levied against Perry stemmed from the discovery of a set of brass knuckles in his possession.
