Another suspect has been arrested for alleged involvement in recent vehicle thefts in Fulton.
Fulton Police Chief Terry Powell said Union City police were notified Thursday in reference to a wanted man from the local car thefts investigation in Fulton, and Union City police were able to locate and arrest the suspect at his residence.
Sean L. Williams, 18, of Union City was arrested for out-of-state warrants from Fulton, according to Powell, who said Union City police officers also assisted in searching the suspect’s residence for potential stolen property.
Through the investigation, information was obtained about the possible location of Fulton’s latest stolen vehicle, which was taken Aug. 28 from Dogwood Lane, and other items stolen from vehicles over the past weekend.
Williams was held in the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex pending an extradition hearing to answer the Kentucky charges. His warrants in Fulton County, Ky., include three counts of theft by unlawful taking over $500 (automobile), three counts of unlawful transaction with a minor and second-degree burglary (forced entry into a residence).
The stolen GMC Canyon was located by officers at a vacant residence on Broadway in South Fulton and other stolen property was recovered from the residence, Powell said.
Charges of three counts of theft (automobile) and burglary have also been filed in Fulton Juvenile Court against a juvenile suspect. The other adult allegedly involved, Cody Johnson, was arrested Aug. 12 and additional charges are expected to be filed for additional offenses, according to Powell.
Anyone who has information about the incidents is asked to contact the Fulton Police Department at (270) 472-3141. Powell said the Fulton Police Department appreciates the Union City and South Fulton police departments for their assistance.
