LaDevin Fair
    School:    Obion Central
    Grade:    Junior
    Height:    6-0
    Weight:    185
    Pos.: Running back

By the numbers: Fair, a transfer from Fulton County due to his father being hired as a paraprofessional coach at Obion Central, certainly did all he could during the Rebels’ heartbreaking 22-16 defeat to then-No. 3 Crockett County. All totaled, the junior running back accounted for over 250 all-purpose yards. Fair rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. The junior RB surely would have run for over 200 yards if not for numerous Rebel holding penalties. Additionally, Fair completed a picture-perfect halfback pass for a 27-yard gain. He also caught four aerials for 29 yards and returned a punt six yards.
Sound bite: “LaDevin is just a great player and he showed his diversity on Friday,” Rebel coach Shawn Jackson said. “He gives his all on every play and is probably the smartest kid I’ve ever coached. The way he translates what we do in practice to game situations seems effortless. You’d think someone that just came in would have more difficulty, but he makes it look easy. I think he’d fit in at any school in the country or in Russia for that matter. If my son grows up to be like LaDevin — both on and off the field — I’ll be proud.”
HONORABLE MENTION: Keylon Hyde, UC sophomore fullback, turned in his second 100-yard game in two attempts this fall, rushing for a total of 127 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries during the Golden Tornadoes’ heart-wrenching 29-28 defeat at Trenton’s historic Freed Field. DeAndrez Williams, UC junior halfback, broke out with his well-documented speed, totaling 124 yards on 14 carries — a 52-yard sprint to the endzone included — during Union City’s loss.
