Hattie Mae Johnson, 86, of Aurora, Ill., died Sept. 3, 2010. She was a former resident of Union City.
Services will be noon Friday at Vine Street Church of Christ in Union City, with Graham McGill officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church an hour before the time of services Friday.
She was born July 15,1924, in Rives, daughter of the late Ina and Ethel Mayberry. She was married to Ira B.T. Johnson Jr., who preceded her in death.
She was educated in the Union City School System and completed cosmetology school in Humboldt. She owned and operated her own beauty shop.
A faithful member of Vine Street Church of Christ for many years, she taught weekly youth Bible study classes. She was a talented cook who enjoyed baking and was known for her hospitality and her support for new Christians.
Survivors include her brother, Willie Mayberry of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Kenneth Johnson of Danville, Ill., and Barry and Karen Johnson of Grand Blanc, Mich.; her daughter, Jacqueline Stroud of Plano, Ill.; and six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
