The Obion Central boys’ golf team coasted to a 183-229 victory against Halls in prep golf action at Dyersburg Municipal Golf Course.
Cameron Green was the medalist for the OC golf team, firing a 42.
Meanwhile, Central’s Garrett Booth carded a 44, Trevor Riley finished with a 47 and Ryan Middlebrook came to the clubhouse with a 50.
On the girls’ side, Halls did not field a team, but the OC ladies took to the course for what was essentially a practice round.
Lady Rebel Ashlyn Runions totaled a 51, while Samantha Wallace carded a 52.
The Rebel golf teams return to action on Thursday (weather permitting) at the Goodyear Wingfoot Invitational.
Union City and South Fulton will both also be participating in the event.
All totaled, OC has just three regular season golf matches remaining on its schedule.
Central goes to The Pines on Sept. 13 for a match with Halls and Gibson County and to Covington for a three-way competition against the Charger teams and Dyersburg on Sept. 16.
The district golf tournament for girls is slated to begin on Sept. 20, with the boys’ event set for Sept. 21 at The Farms in Dyersburg.
Twisters at Paris
The Union City golf teams took to the links on Tuesday with the local boys coming in 16th and their female counterparts 14th at the Henry County Patriot Classic — an 18-hole tournament held at Paris Landing Golf Course.
All totaled, the UC boys had a 380. The Lady Tornadoes finished with a 217.
Twister Britton Bugg shot a team-best 91, while Josh McManus came through with a 93 and Turner Ams finished at 95. Caleb Long totaled a 101.
Clay Treece also played for UC, but his 106 was not counted in his team’s cumulative total.
On the girls’ side, Mollie Stone paced the Lady Twisters with a 94, while Erica Sturkie finished at 123.
Sarah Riley’s 138 was dropped from UC’s total.
Union City has four regular season golf matches remaining on its schedule.
The UC boys host Trenton on Sept. 13 while the girls travel to Milan the same afternoon.
The Twister boys play Trenton at Diamond Oaks on Sept. 14.
Union City closes the regular season against South Fulton on Sept. 16.
