Concerned parents to meet

A group of parents has called a meeting concerning incidents surrounding the reassignment of South Fulton Middle/High School principal Adam Stephens.
Stephens was reassigned to a classroom position at an elementary school in the Obion County School System during a Sept. 1 meeting involving him and Obion County Director of Schools David Huss.
At the close of Tuesday night’s Obion County School Board meeting, school board member David Lamb — who serves the South Fulton area — announced that several parents want to talk about the incidents involving Stephens and desire to meet with Huss and any school board members who wish to attend.
The meeting has been set for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the high school.
The incident involving Stephens’ reassignment was not on the agenda and was not discussed during Tuesday night’s monthly school board meeting. Stephens was present but did not address the board.
Stephens was named principal at South Fulton Middle/High School in May 2007 and prior to that had served two years as principal at Hillcrest Elementary School in Troy. He had taught fourth grade at Hillcrest for a year before being named to the principal’s position there in May 2005.
