The Rural West Regional meeting of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network for this month has been canceled to permit local participation in two suicide prevention awareness events:
• The Suicide Prevention Awareness Day program will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 15 in the Vince Gill Room of Belmont University’s Curb Event Center, located at 2200 Belmont Blvd. in Nashville.
Commissioners from the Tennessee Departments of Education, Health and Mental Health will be honored for their contributions to suicide prevention. Additionally, the Regional Suicide Prevention Awards and the Madge and Ken Suicide Prevention Award will be given out at this event.
A luncheon will follow the ceremony and a business meeting of the TSPN Advisory Council will convene at noon within the event center.
RSVPs will be necessary for this event and should be made to the TSPN central office at (615) 297-1077 or email@example.com.
• TSPN will have an exhibit at the Northwest Council on Children and Youth’s Alcohol and Drug Family Dynamics conference at the University of Tennessee at Martin, scheduled for Sept. 17 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The mayor of Martin will sign and submit a Suicide Prevention Awareness Month proclamation and TSPN will be permitted to provide information about the agency during the first half-hour.
TSPN’s contact point for this event is Dana Cobb, who can be reached at (731) 986-4243 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The next regional meeting will convene at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at Behavioral Health Initiatives, located at 36C Sandstone Circle in Jackson.
