America’s most famous jockey, Patrick Alan “Pat” Day, will be the speaker at the Sept. 16 Union City Rotary Club’s Obion County Distinguished Speakers Foundation banquet. The event will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m. at Hampton Centré on West Reelfoot Avenue in Union City. The meal will be served at 7 and Day will share the story of his life as a jockey, as well as his victory over substance abuse and his decision to become involved with the Race Track Chaplaincy of America program. Tickets are on sale at Lanzer’s Printing and Office Supply in downtown Union City until Sept. 14 and will also be available at Friday’s noon Rotary Club meeting. Tables for eight are available.
