Lloyd Sawyer, 80, of Kenton died Sept. 5, 2010, at Dyer Nursing Home in Rutherford.
Services will be Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church near Kenton. The Rev. James Kinsey, assisted by the Rev. James Barber, will officiate and burial will follow in Bethpage Cemetery near Kenton.
Friends may call at the church from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday.
Leitherland Funeral Home in Rutherford is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Oct. 9, 1929, son of the late Perry and Ora (Thompson) Sawyer. He was married to Melba Sawyer of Rutherford, who survives.
He had worked at Goodyear and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Dale and Deborah Sawyer of Kenton, Gene Sawyer and Dennis Cunningham of Dyer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gale and Mickey Little of Kenton and Jill and Charley Karnes of Dyer; two brothers, Glen Sawyer of Kenton and Talmage Sawyer of Michigan; and 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Harris.
