B.J. Williams, 81, of South Fulton died the morning of Sept. 3, 2010, at his home.
Services were set for today at 11 a.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Burial was to follow in Old Bethel Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in the McConnell community, son of the late Burl Joe and Florence (Boyd) Williams. He was married to Nancy (Crittendon) Williams, who preceded him in death Jan. 11, 2000.
A member of Water Valley (Ky.) Pentecostal Tabernacle, he had been an employee of Lewie Electric Co. in Chicago and had lived most of his life in Chicago and South Fulton.
He is survived by four daughters, Mauide Imundo of Chicago, Martha Patterson of Union City and Patricia Damons and Christine Graves, both of South Fulton; three sons, Bobby Wiliams of Long Grove, Ill., Joel Williams of Salem, Ill., and Tommy Williams of South Fulton; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Patey of South Fulton; a stepson, Eddie Moore of Paris; two sisters, Helen Crittendon of Fulton and Martha Deson of Virginia; and 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Gary Moore; and four brothers and two sisters.
