Archaeofest planned for Sept. 18

The Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park will host the 28th annual Archaeofest on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 19 from 12-5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and the event will be rain or shine.
The weekend event is a celebration of Native American Culture and Archaeology. Activities include Native American Dancers and Drummers performing both traditional and contemporary, hay wagon tours, story telling, Native American Foods and Crafts, Wildlife Program on birds of prey and reptiles, flint knapping and archaeologists on site for artifact identification, weapons and tools and nature hikes and tours
