2010 Bikers for Books Poker Run set for Sept. 11

WCP 9.2.10 Join riders of all makes and models of motorcycles for a run of approximately 160 miles through beautiful West Tennessee during WLJT’s 2010 Bikers for Books Poker Run on Saturday, Sept. 11.
As West Tennessee’s public television station, WLJT provides high quality national public television program for the entire family, outstanding local productions and extensive outreach initiatives for the people of West Tennessee.
WLJT’s dedication to education is apparent by the quality programming and outreach activities.
Each year, WLJT conduct numerous “Countdown to Kindergarten” workshops that help prepare parents and children for their first year of school.
Through WLJT’s Reading Rangers – Ready to Lead in Literacy program, books are put into the hands of young children. In the last year alone, WLJT has distributed literally thousands of books through this program.
Please help WLJT continue these vital education initiatives and help them thrive by participating in the 2010 Bikers for Books Poker Run on Saturday, Sept. 11 as part of the 17th Annual Tennessee Soybean Festival.
The event will start at Martin City Hall (previously First State Bank) at 109 University St., Martin with registration and start from 8-9 a.m.
The ride will end at The Gap (next to Olivia’s Opera House Restaurant) in downtown Martin with awards, including cash and merchandise prizes, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing at 3 p.m.
