South Fulton Middle/High School principal Adam Stephens has been reassigned to a classroom position at an elementary school in the Obion County School System.
Obion County Director of Schools David Huss said the reassignment occurred Wednesday morning during a meeting where both he and Stephens were present, but specific details were not disclosed.
He said Stephens has been reassigned to teach at Ridgemont Elementary School, effective today.
Stephens was named principal at South Fulton Middle/High School in May 2007 and prior to that had served two years as principal at Hillcrest Elementary School in Troy. He had taught fourth grade at Hillcrest for a year before being named to the principal’s position there in May 2005.
Huss said Obion County Central High School assistant principal Craig Rogers has been chosen as interim principal at South Fulton Middle/High School until a permanent replacement is chosen. The principal’s position will be posted as a job opening in the coming days.
“I think Craig will do a fabulous job,” Huss said, adding that he is very familiar with board policies and procedures. “I am confident he can carry on there until we announce the job opening and do interviews.”
Rogers’ wife, Patresa, is assistant principal at nearby South Fulton Elementary School.
