Murphy honored at state board luncheon | David Murphy,Tennessee State Board of Funeral Director and Embalmers

David Murphy (right), of Martin, was presented with a plaque of appreciation at the Past President’s Luncheon of the Tennessee State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers. Current President Dennis Hamilton (left) was presented the plaque to Murphy.
WCP 8.31.10 The annual Past President’s Luncheon of the Tennessee State Board of Funeral Director and Embalmers was held Aug. 10 in Nashville.
Current President Dennis Hamilton presented a plaque of appreciation to Immediate Past President David W. Murphy of Martin for his valuable service as board member from 2006-2009 and as president in 2009.
Murphy’s service was characterized by intelligence, fairness, good humor, steadfastness and genuine concern for the rights of all involved.
His hard work, dedication, determination and knowledge of the funeral profession have helped make Tennessee State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers an exemplary board.
Murphy’s unselfish service was a credit to his predecessors, a joy and encouragement to his contemporaries and a sterling example of his successors.
The appointment to the board was made by Gov. Phil Bredesen. Murphy formerly served on the board from 1995-1997 and served as president in 1998. The appointment was made by former Gov. Ned R. McWherter.
