First Saturday sing set
The Boosters First Saturday Monthly Sing will be held at Crossroads Worship Center in Brag-gadocio, Mo., Saturday at 5 p.m. The featured group, Southern Grace, will sing at 7 p.m. and there will be an open mic opportunity, with everyone invited to sing.
Free soft drinks, coffee and tea will be available and concessions will be offered.
The Boosters Band will also be present.
Boosters Sings are funded by donations to cover groups’ travel expenses and building rent.
The church may be reached by taking Exit 14 off I-55 West. To sell chicken dinners
Manna Ministries, located at 4001 Ken-Tenn Highway near Union City, will be selling plates featuring either chicken and dressing or chicken and dumplings, plus a vegetable, slaw, cranberry sauce, dessert and drink, for $6 Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Whole cakes will also be available for sale.
Meals are dine-in or take-out and funds raised will go to support church programs.

Church of Jesus for All, located at 817 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City, will host their inaugural Choir Day Sunday at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend, says the pastor, the Rev. Harry Hayes. Saturday singing set
The monthly Saturday singing will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. A fellowship meal with sandwiches will follow the singing and the public is invited to join the congregation. Unity Convention slated
Good News Worship Center at 675 Reed Road in Lexington is inviting all who are interested to the Unity Convention Sept. 10-12.
Bishop Mark Dubois of Mackinaw, Ill., will focus on the theme “A View From the Heavens.”
Meetings will be 7 p.m. Sept. 10, 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sept. 11 and 10 a.m. Sept. 12. Fellowship meals will be served following the evening meetings.

Presenting ‘Godspell’
The Paris Henry County Arts Council is presenting the Bethel University Renaissance Theatre Production of “Godspell” Oct. 1-2 at the Krider Performing Arts Center in Paris at 7 p.m. Tickets for this event are $10 and can be purchased from the Arts Council office, located at 100 North Caldwell St. inside City Hall, the Bethel University Bookstore, Tennessee Valley Community Church and from any Arts Council board member.
“‘Godspell’ is a fun and exciting story about the life of Jesus and the impact He had on those who followed Him. This series of parables, based on the Gospel of Matthew, will challenge and inspire audiences of all ages,” a spokesman said. “Told through story and song, the life of Christ is illustrated through the company of players or ‘disciples.’ Creative storytelling, choreography, mime and many forms of theatrical expression make this telling of the passion of the Christ one not to be missed. You will be challenged and inspired as you see many of the important events laid out before you, including the last supper, the crucifixion and the resurrection.”
