The Union City golf teams claimed bragging rights over Obion Central on Monday afternoon in Troy.
Union City’s Mollie Stone studies her put, while Obion Central’s Mandi McDaniel holds the flag during prep golf action on Monday.
The Twister boys bested their county rivals 184-189, while their female counterparts claimed a 105-111 triumph.
Union City’s Britton Bugg had the lowest score of the afternoon with a 41, while Caleb Long carded a 46, Turner Ams fired a 48 and Josh McManus came in with a 49.
The Rebels had Cameron Green at 42, Trevor Riley at 47, Austin Rudd at 49 and Ryan Middlebrook at 51.
Obion Central’s Garrett Booth and Union City’s Grant Walton shot a 53 and 60, respectively, but neither score was counted in the team totals.
On the girls’ side, Lady Twister Mollie Stone posted the day’s lowest score with a 45, while teammate Sarah Riley came to the clubhouse with a 60.
Obion Central’s Ashlyn Runions carded a 55, while Samantha Wallace shot a 56.
OC’s Mandi McDaniel (65) and UC’s Madison Baldwin (64) both took to the links, but their scores were not included in team totals.
Union City returns to action on Thursday at the Goodyear Wingfoot Course against South Fulton. The Rebel golfers host Dyersburg this afternoon at Wynridge Greens in what is the team’s final home match of the fall.
DEVILS FALL SHORT
Consistency counted on the links Monday.
All four players on the Dresden’s golf team scored lower than 45 as the Lions bested South Fulton 163-173 in a three-team match that also included Westview at Sharon’s Persimmon Hills Golf Course.
Red Devil Chase Mayfield was the overall medalist with a 35. SF teammate Hunter Hutchins finished with a 43, while Easten Woolf and Hunter Faulkner carded a 45 and 50, respectively.
J.B. Graves’ 51 was not counted in SF’s cumulative total.
The Red Devil golfers return to Persimmon Hills this afternoon for a match with Westview, Greenfield and Bradford.
