The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and asphalt paving work along several highways in Fulton County, Ky., this week.
Milling is expected to start today on KY 1282 and KY 1128 and paving is to begin Wednesday and Thursday.
Paving on a half-mile section of KY 1282 runs from east of KY 311 extending eastward about a half-mile to mile point 4.71, while paving on KY 1128 runs from the intersection with KY 1463 at mile point 0.0 extending eastward to the one-mile marker.
A crew plans milling and paving on KY 1463 in Fulton County at mile marker 3.239 starting Wednesday morning. This is a maintenance project to repair and improve a railroad crossing. A milling crew plans to be at the site early Wednesday morning, with the paving crew expected to be at the site around 1 p.m.
Keith Todd, public information officer for the Department of Highways District 1 and 2, said the roadway will remain open throughout the day. However, motorists should be aware of the rough conditions that will exist for a short time between the milling and paving. Some minor travel delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment for this rail crossing improvement work.
Motorists should be aware of this planned milling and paving work this week in Fulton County, according to Todd. Caution is advised in areas where equipment, flaggers and maintenance personnel will be on the roadway close to traffic flow.
