Quincy Drake Russell, 8, of Clinton, Ky., died 11:30 a.m. Aug. 27, 2010, at his home.
A private funeral service for the family was held, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Kentucky.
Pallbearers were Justin Cranford, Zachary Gardner-Green, Charlie Campbell, Todd Sanderson, Melissa Thompson and Beth White.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Quincy was born March 11, 2002, in Mayfield, Ky., son of Ben and Leigh Ann (Young) Russell of Clinton. He was a student at Hickman County (Ky.) Elementary School and was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church.
He is also survived by his sister, Melody Pennington Russell of Clinton; his grandparents, Joe and Virginia Young of Oakton, Ky., Terry Russell of Palmetto, Fla., and Richard and Nancy Stanley of Aurora, Colo.; his great-grandparents, Odies and Evelyn Young of Belleville, Ill., Fred and June Gardner of Fulton and Sondra Russell of Cary, N.C.; his aunts and uncles, Stephanie Rudd of Clinton, Daniel and Cristin Russell of Centennial, Colo., and Stephen Russell of Salt Lake City; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Jessica Cranford.
