Ruth Ann Dowden, 53, of Martin died Aug. 23, 2010, at her home. She was the mother of Stephen Lenn Parmenter of South Fulton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Martin Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Mace Jett officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mark Dowden, Jason Edgin, Jerry Young, Cory Beddingfield, Doug Rowlett, Robert Douglas Rowlett and Steve Jahr.
Friends may call at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin 5-8 p.m. today. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
She was born Jan. 1, 1957, in Ypsilanti, Mich., daughter of the late Charlie and Gladys (Burpo) Edgin. She was married to Jessie E. Dowden, who survives, and was a member of Martin Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was employed at Tyson Foods in Union City and had also worked at the former HIS Clothing Co. in South Fulton and at Hubbell Lighting in Martin.
Survivors also include another son, James Albert Dowden of Martin; her stepson, Andrew Brackett of Dresden; and her grandson, Ty Joseph Parmenter of South Fulton.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John L. Edgin and Charles Edgin.
