Carson Center releases schedule

The Carson Center in Paducah, Ky., recently released its Broadway line-up for the 2010-11 season.
“Forever Plaid,” Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. — This quirky, funny and entertaining tribute to friendship, music and following your dream has been delighting audiences for more than 20 years. Singing in delicious four-part harmony, this all-male group will serenade you with 1950s hits such as “Three Coins in the Fountain,” “Sixteen Tons” and “Heart and Soul.”
“Blue Man Group,” Nov. 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. — Blue Man Group is wildly popular for its combination of comedy, music and technology. Although it is impossible to describe, Blue Man Group is a wildly outrageous show that leaves the audience in a blissful, euphoric state. With no spoken language, Blue Man Group is perfect for people of all ages and cultures. This unique experience is guaranteed to be an outing you will never forget!
“Grease,” Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. — The one that you want is back! Take a trip to a simpler time of poodle skirts, drive-ins and T-birds. Bad boy Danny and girl next door Sandy fall in love again to your favorite songs. So throw your mittens around your kittens and hand jive the night away with the show that’ll make you want to shout, “A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop A-wop-bam-boom!”
“Legally Blonde,” Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. — The hilarious MGM film is Broadway’s new smash hit, “Legally Blonde The Musical.” “Legally Blonde” follows sorority star Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn’t take “no” for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious,” Elle hits the books and goes where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
“The Wizard of Oz,” March 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. — Bring the entire family to experience this musical celebration of the iconic film as Dorothy, Toto and their friends travel the magical Land of Oz. You’ll know you’re not in Kansas anymore from moment the tornado transports you Over the Rainbow in this timeless production, featuring the classic songs and beloved characters you remember from your childhood.
“Avenue Q,” April 14 at 7:30 p.m. — “Avenue Q” is Broadway’s smash-hit 2004 Tony Award®-winner for Best Musical. Full of heart and hummable tunes, “Avenue Q” is about trying to make it in NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Called “one of the funniest shows you’re ever likely to see” by Entertainment Weekly, “Avenue Q” features a cast of people and puppets who tell the story in a smart, risqué and entertaining way. Recommended for ages 13 and older.
