The Messenger, August 26, 2010
The Northwest Council on Children and Youth is organizing “Behind the Eclipse: How Addiction Takes Over a Family,” a training conference which will coincide with and include the Rural West Region’s recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
The conference will be held 8 a.m.-noon Sept. 17, at Watkins Auditorium in Boling University Center on the campus of University of Tennessee at Martin. The event will included the presentation of local Suicide Prevention Awareness Month proclamations, followed by brief opening remarks and the title presentation by Lisa Anderson-Armstrong, LMSW, MTS, of Cumberland Heights.
Registration fees are $10 for non-members and $5 for full-time students. Registration automatically registers someone as a member of the Northwest Council. Members of the council who have already paid their 2010-11 membership dues may attend the event free of charge.
Those who will not be attending the September event are reminded to renew membership with the Northwest Council by completing the membership renewal form.
The registration deadline is Sept. 9.
