Miss Huey, Ward to wed

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Magan Carol Huey and John Brandon Ward, both of Murfreesboro, are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve Huey of Troy and Teresa Charlton of Liberal, Kan. She is the granddaughter of Carol Wayne and Maye Charlton of Obion, Norma Huey of Troy and the late Harold Huey.
She is a 2002 challenge graduate of Obion County Central High School. She is a 2006 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, where she received a bachelor of science degree in university studies. She is a 2010 graduate of Cumberland University in Lebanon, where she earned a master of arts degree in education. While at Cumberland, she received the Mary Argo McKee Commitment to the Improvement in Education Award. This award is one of three awards given yearly to graduating students in the department of education. She is employed by Rutherford County Schools.
The groom-elect is the son of John and Cindy Ward of South Fulton. He is the grandson of the late J.W. and Jean Love Ward of Hickman, Ky., the late Era Dell Latham Allen of South Fulton and the late Bobby Charles Allen of Greenfield.
He is a 2000 honors graduate of South Fulton High School. He graduated in 2004 from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a minor in history. He has completed coursework in the field of transportation, where he earned the designation of Certified Transportation Broker through the Transportation Intermediaries Association. He serves as director of business development for Somerset Logistics, headquartered in Murfreesboro.
The couple will wed at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 at Troy United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the Moffatt Centrè in Troy.
All friends and family are invited to attend. Only out-of-town invitations will be sent.
