Louie Thomas Cherry, 78, of Trenton, a former resident of Kenton, died Aug. 17, 2010, at his home after a battle with cancer.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at Trenton First United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
Medina Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
He was born May 14, 1932, in Obion County, son of the late Ernest T. and Ruby (Patterson) Cherry. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a 54-year member of Kenton Masonic Lodge No. 392.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Virginia (Coday) Cherry; his daughter, Sue Fipps of Kenton; his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Tammy Cherry of Kenton; three grandchildren, Brooke Jones of Rutherford, Austin Fipps of Nashville and Lauren Michelle Cherry of Kenton; and his great-granddaughter, Izzie Ray Jones of Rutherford.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole Fipps.
