$10,000+ theft charged Posted: Friday, August 20, 2010 2:56 pm The Messenger, August 20, 2010 A Union City woman has been charged with theft in connection with the alleged fraud/forgery of over $13,000 from an elderly woman’s checking account. Mary Katherine Coble, 63, of 506 North Dobbins St., Union City, was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday on a charge of theft over $10,000, according to a Union City Police Department report. Police had received a complaint Monday about the alleged fraud/forgery of more than $10,000 on the checking account of a 95-year-old Union City woman, with the incidents likely occurring between March 1, 2009, and Monday. Police investigators developed a suspect in the case and Ms. Coble was interviewed Tuesday. The amount of the theft was listed at $13,244.87, according to the police report. |
