The winning team included Ron Cooper, Portis Tanner, Wynn Burnett, Terry Wiseman, Rodger Tanner and Greg Dunn. Finishing in second at 9-under par was the team of Chris Tidwell, Robert King, David Sturkie, Randy Chism and Tony Westbrooks; the team of Ben Hopkins, Mason Storey, Nick Gilliam, Jacob Dobson, Clay Prince and Grant Gaines; and the team of Matt Russell, Bobby Russell and Rick Smith. The scramble begins at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. The fee includes dinner. NASCAR twinbills on tap in Nashville GLADEVILLE (AP) — The Nashville Superspeedway will host two doubleheaders of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2011. The doubleheaders will take place April 22-23 and July 22-23, marking the first time in the track’s 11-year history that it will host two NASCAR doubleheaders in a season. The first weekend will feature a 200-mile trucks race on Friday and a 300-mile Nationwide Series race on Saturday. The second weekend will include another 200-mile trucks race on Friday and the Federated Auto Parts 300 the following night. TN jr. high skipper socked at practice THOMPSON’S STA-TION (AP) — Authorities in Middle Tennessee have charged a father with assault after a middle school football coach was punched. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Christopher Gomoljak on Tuesday. Department spokesman Hugh Tharp told The Tennessean Gomoljak is accused of pushing Heritage Middle School coach Lee Nachand during a team practice and striking him in the face with a fist. Tharp said the dispute arose over the amount of playing time Gomoljak’s son was getting. After his arrest, Gomoljak was released on $1,000 bond. No telephone listing for Christopher Gomoljak could be found Wednesday. |
