Bro. Bobby Peal welcomed everyone by singing, “When I See the Blood.” Edna Johle taught from Romans 5:19 which says, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” The truth being sin, manifested in unbelief and disobedience to God, separates us from Him.
Ashlyn and Hunter Hagye assisted Mary in leading “In the Highways” and “He’s a Big God.” Hunter sang “Jesus Loves Me,” and Ashlyn sang “Somebody’s Knocking at My Door.” Mary led the chorus in “Blessed Be His Name” and “To God Be the Glory.” Patsy Baker sang “The Shepherd of My Heart,” and Mary and Melba Carson sang “O For a Thousand Tongues.”
Bro. Bobby told of how Jesus paid a great price for us. Any way you think of Him, it is always pleasant, but hanging on the cross was not pleasant for Him. He always multiplied whatever was given to Him, such as the loaves of bread which fed the 5,000. He can multiply your joys if you only ask and receive.
Bro. Bobby opened evening service singing “Redeemed,” and Mary led “There Is Power in the Blood,” “Revive Us Again,” “I Will Call Upon The Lord” and “It Is Mine.” Martha Kotarba sang, “Sheltered in the Arms of God.” Harvey Dildine sang “Just Any Day Now,” and Patsy Baker sang “Just Go By.”
Bro. Bobby turned to Genesis 18:11-15 which tells how Sarah tried to help God in supplying them with a son by telling Abraham to have a child by a servant, but it was not God’s plan. Only Sarah was to be blessed with a child. Jesus’ greatest promise was when He said, “Lo I will be with you until the end.” How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called the children of God! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Nothing is impossible with God. Things unseen to us are very visual to God, because He knows before it happens what we will go through each day.
We again held hands in a circle in front of the altar and prayed for the needs of our congregation and our country as we dismissed from the service.wcp 8-5-10
