Kenneth Poland, 93, of Kenton died Aug. 14, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Services were set for 1 p.m. today at Union City Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Burial was to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens, with Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were to be Darren Doss, David Doss, Tim Doss, Jerrel Doss, E.D. Doss and Tillman Doss.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church, 831 Everett Blvd., Union City, TN 38261.
He was born Oct. 21, 1916, in Jennings County, Ind., son of the late Claude and Lottie (Yeley) Poland. He was married to the former Frances Doss, who survives, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Union City Second Baptist Church. He was the retired owner of Kay Tool and Die and D&D Co.
Survivors also include his daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Lee Asbridge of Kenton; two granddaughters, Laura Asbridge and Leena Asbridge, both of Memphis; and his brother, Eugene Poland of Columbus, Ind.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Baker and Irene Brownfield; and four brothers, Lawrence Poland, Francis Poland, Robert Poland and Donald Poland.
